What should I know, what should I pay attention to?

We grant the permit for a period not longer than 3 years. The period of the permit depends primarily on the period for which the employer intends to entrust you with work.

The permit entitles you to work in Poland only under the conditions specified therein. You cannot work for another employer on its basis. The exceptions are permits issued in cases where you are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit, i.e., for example: you have received a temporary residence and work permit as:

  • graduate of a Polish upper secondary school
  • full-time higher education
  • or full-time doctoral studies at a Polish university.

It is your duty to inform the voivode who issued the permit about the termination of work within 15 working days of losing employment. If you want to work for another employer, you must submit a new application for temporary residence and work. You can also submit an application for a change of a temporary residence and work permit form. When changing the permit, you can change the employer. The notification obligation will be deemed fulfilled if you submit an application for temporary residence or change of temporary residence and work permit within 15 working days of losing your job. If you do not submit a new application or an application to change your permit, we will start the procedure of withdrawing your permit. The purpose of your stay, declared by you when submitting the application, has ceased. If you decide not to submit the application, we may refuse to grant you another temporary residence permit.

Have you received a decision inconsistent with your request?

The decision may be appealed against to the Head of the Office for Foreigners. You submit the appeal through the Mazowieckie Voivode within 14 days from the date of delivery of the decision. If the Mazowieckie Voivode decides that your appeal deserves Entire to be taken into account, may issue a new decision within 7 days from the date of receipt of the appeal, in which it will repeal or amend the challenged decision. If, after receiving the appeal, the Voivode does not issue a new decision, then the files of your case together with the appeal will be transferred to the Head of the Office for Foreigners within 7 days from the date of receipt of the appeal by the authority.

You will find the rules for reviewing case files HERE.
