The procedure of legalizing your stay in Poland may seem complicated. Contrary to appearances, it is not. Below we present 10 tips that will help you learn the order of all the activities and what you need to do step by step.
Temporary residence permit in Poland - learn 10 important steps:
- At the very beginning, you should familiarize yourself with the procedures and conditions for issuing residence permits, which you will find on our website, available in several foreign languages. Then, gather the required documents. Remember that they must be prepared in Polish, and foreign documents must be submitted together with a sworn translation. A sworn (certified) translation is a type of translation that is performed only by a licensed translator, thanks to which it gains legal force.
- Then fill out the application in MOS Case Management Module, print it out and sign it by hand.
- Sign up for inPOL Foreigner Portal, where you will generate an application, and then make an appointment at the office by choosing a convenient location. In this step, you should fill out, print out and sign the application from the Case Management Module system. You can send the application to the office by post or submit it to the registry office, Customer Service Point or delegation. Details on this subject can be found on our website at the link: https://migrant.wsc.mazowieckie.pl/node/352.
- For your scheduled visit to the Department of Foreigners' Affairs to submit your application, bring a printed and signed application from MOS and take the application or application code generated in the inPOL Portal with you. You will also submit your fingerprints at that time. Make sure to bring all the required documents with you. This will speed up the procedure for legalizing your stay.
- If you sent the application by post – after it is registered and the official assigns a case number, you will receive information about the case number by text message. You will be able to track the status of your case from then on.
- If your application contains any formal deficiencies, e.g. missing photos, fingerprints or required attachments, you will receive a request from the office to complete them.
- In order to supplement the formal deficiencies of the application, come to the office with the summons you received. In the department, take the C number from the ticket machine and go to room 25, to stand no. 14. Remember to appear at the time indicated in the summons.
- After completing all formal deficiencies in the application, you will receive a letter with the expected date of making a decision and the need to complete the missing documents confirming the purpose of your stay (so-called material deficiencies).
- In the penultimate step, you must deliver the required documents to the office. You can do this in person, by mail, via e-Delivery or e-PUAP. When sending documents, be sure to remember the cover letter LINK.
Remember, documents sent by post or via e-Delivery or submitted to the Customer Service Point must be certified by a notary. To submit documents in person at the department's office, book a visit in advance at the inPOL Foreigner's Portal (mezzanine, room A08, stand no. 18). You can also submit documents at the WSC registry office (ul. Marszałkowska 3/5), Customer Service Point at pl. Bankowy 3/5 (entrance F from Al. Solidarności) - online visit bookings are available at: www.e-usulugi.mazowieckie.pl. - After receiving a text message from the office with the date of your visit, come and collect your decision and residence card.
