New residence permits for UK citizens/ family members of UK citizens

Documents to be issued from January 1.01.2021, XNUMX citizens of the UK/family members of UK citizens, after the end of the transitional period provided for in Withdrawal Agreement.

They will confirm the use of the rights beneficiary of the Withdrawal Agreement when crossing borders and while staying in Poland.

The documents will contain a note referring to the Withdrawal Agreement: "Art. 50 TEU, Art. 18 par. 4 of the Withdrawal Agreement”.

Applications for the issuance of documents can be submitted from January 1.01.2021, XNUMX.

New documents will also be issued in the case of proceedings not completed by December 31.12.2020, XNUMX. However, it will be necessary to submit fingerprints in order to issue these documents.

The new residence documents that will be available to the beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement, entitling them to travel around the Schengen area without a visa, are:

– certificate of registration of residence (for a citizen of the UK in the case of having the right of residence, which will not apply to the certificate of registration of the stay of a frontier worker);

  • a document confirming the right of permanent residence (for a UK citizen in the case of having the right of permanent residence);
  • residence card (for a family member who is not a citizen of the UK, in the case of having the right of residence);
  • permanent residence card (for a family member who is not a citizen of the UK in the case of having the right of permanent residence).

In addition, for the duration of proceedings for the issuance of new documents, the voivode will issue them certificate of submission of the application.

No longer than until the end of 2021, documents issued before the end of the transition period will be valid, i.e.:

  • a document confirming the right of permanent residence;
  • residence card of a family member of an EU citizen;
  • permanent residence card of a family member of an EU citizen.
