It is a document confirming belonging to the Polish Nation. The granting of the Pole's Card does not mean acquisition of Polish citizenship or confirmation of Polish origin within the meaning of the provisions of the Repatriation Act. The holder of the Pole's Card who applies to the President of the Republic of Poland for granting Polish citizenship through a Polish consul is exempt from consular fees for accepting the application and preparing documentation in the case for granting Polish citizenship.

In the case of formal deficiencies in the application for granting Polish citizenship by the President of the Republic of Poland, which are not supplemented within 30 days from the date of receipt of the summons, the case will not be continued. Then the case is closed and a notice of leaving the application without consideration is issued. In such a situation, a correctly completed application for granting Polish citizenship should be re-submitted along with a set of required documents.

A sworn translator is a person who has the right to practice as a sworn translator confirmed by a certificate issued by the Polish Minister of Justice. Decisions made by the President of the Republic of Poland are made in the form of resolutions, not administrative decisions. The decisions of the President in matters relating to Polish citizenship are discretionary, do not require justification and are not subject to appeal, therefore decisions of the President of the Republic of Poland cannot be appealed against, nor can the same case be reconsidered. In the event of refusal to consent to the renunciation of Polish citizenship, one may only re-submit an application for the loss of Polish citizenship together with a set of required documents.
