It is a document confirming belonging to the Polish Nation. The granting of the Pole's Card does not mean acquisition of Polish citizenship or confirmation of Polish origin within the meaning of the provisions of the Repatriation Act. The holder of the Pole's Card who applies to the President of the Republic of Poland for granting Polish citizenship through a Polish consul is exempt from consular fees for accepting the application and preparing documentation in the case for granting Polish citizenship. If, on the other hand, the holder of the Pole's Card has acquired Polish citizenship, the Pole's Card held by him expires by operation of law on the date of issuing the document confirming the acquisition of Polish citizenship.
