In the case of ending legal stay, in order to meet the deadline, please fill out w inPOL Foreigner Portal application, its generation and sending by post to the address of ul. Marszałkowska 3/5, Department of Foreigners' Affairs, 00-624 Warsaw. Remember to attach to the application a set of required documents confirming your purpose of stay. 

Unfortunately, due to the large number of pending cases, a case sent by post will be processed longer. Therefore, we encourage you to book appointments via the inPOL system. Remember that after setting up an account in the inPOL system, you will be able to check the status of your case on an ongoing basis.

No, there is no stamp duty to submit a document confirming the granting of a power of attorney in matters of acquiring Polish citizenship by repatriation and confirming the possession of Polish citizenship acquired in this way.

Issuance of a decision confirming Polish possession in connection with repatriation is not subject to stamp duty.

The decision may be sent to the applicant, if he/she lives in a country that is a member of the European Union, or to the Polish consular post, if the application was submitted through it. In other cases, the applicant who lives abroad and has not established proxy to conduct his case, he must indicate a representative for service in Poland, i.e. a person to whom the correspondence will be sent. In the absence of a representative for service, all letters and the decision are left in the case files with the effect of delivery.

Yes, the application should be accompanied by documents confirming changes of names and surnames, e.g. marriage certificate, acts of change of names and surnames.

In the absence of Polish documents, you can request them from the municipal office competent for the last place check-into the correct one Registry Office or archives or the Institute of National Remembrance, which stores emigration documents issued by the authorities of the Polish People's Republic until 1989. If there are difficulties with finding the appropriate institution, you can contact the Central Directorate of State Archives - Central Archival Information Center (ul. Rakowiecka 2D, 02-517 Warsaw) or take advantage of online databases.

Documents that confirm possession of Polish citizenship are, for example, a Polish passport, a Polish identity card, a certificate of Polish citizenship; certificate of last place check-in in Poland with an annotation about the issued ID card or Poland military booklet.
