Amendment to the law on assistance to Ukrainian citizens in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of this state

On January 28, 2023, the Act amending the Act on assistance to Ukrainian citizens in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of this state and certain other acts entered into force (Journal of Laws, item 185). The regulations regulate e.g. issues regarding the rules of residence of Ukrainian citizens in Poland.

The Act is effective from the day following its publication in the Journal of Laws, with a number of its provisions coming into force on other dates.

Amendments to the Act of March 12, 2022 on assistance to Ukrainian citizens in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of this state

Work is underway on a draft act amending the act on assistance to Ukrainian citizens in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of that state and certain other acts.

One of the changes this project envisages is repeal of the provision of art. 38 of the Act of March 12, 2022 on assistance to Ukrainian citizens in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of that state (Journal of Laws, item 583, as amended), providing for the possibility of submitting, after 9 months from entry, applications for a temporary residence permit.

Reorganization of the information and advisory point for citizens from Ukraine

Currently, the information and advisory point for citizens from Ukraine at ul. New World 15/17. From October 3. the point will operate as part of the AMIF project (Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund). The point will be open from Monday to Friday from 10-18.

Support will be provided in the field of information on matters related to functioning in Poland and other aspects of life in Poland, including professional activation or learning the Polish language. 

Announcement for citizens of Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus on submitting applications for national visas

On August 30, 2022, the Regulation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of August 18, 2022 on issuing national visas to foreigners residing on the territory of the Republic of Poland entered into force, specifying, in particular, the purposes of issuing visas and the countries whose citizens will be entitled to submit these applications in Poland.
